Caramel Pear Cake... a great dessert
Caramel Pear Cake
Ingredients:
1 cup flour
2/3 cup white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
dash of cloves
1/2 cup milk
1 can (16 oz) pears -drained and chopped
1/2 cup chopped pecans
3/4 cup brown sugar -packed
1/4 cup butter or margarine
3/4 cup water
Ice cream or whipped cream
Instructions:
Mix up the main dry ingredients first (flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, cloves) then add milk and continue to mix until smoothed. Stir in the pears and pecans. Pour into a 2 quart casserole dish. In a small mixing bowl mix the brown sugar, butter and hot water. Pour this mixture over the batter in the casserole dish. Bake for 45 minutes at 375 degrees F.
