Small Kitchen Designs That Work Well

Just because you have a small space doesn’t mean you can't work in a small kitchen design.

A small kitchen can look just as stunning, and it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. For example. We were working on an investment property, that we wanted to rent. Renovating for Profit The kitchen was just as you see it in the “before picture” below. There were not cabinets to be rescued here!

The doors and boxes, literally fell off in our hands when we opened them. We were faced with a new kitchen. Plus the stove space was right up against the refrigerator space, which I don't like. (they left the ugly fridge behind when they moved out)

So, after some consultation with my local Home Depot Kitchen expert. We decided to rework the space so that it would work better. We got rid of that strange little island that separated it from the eating area, and we moved the refrigerator space to the side wall, which had nothing there, and then put in some extra counter space where the fridge was, as well as box in the new refrigerator space so that there was more storage space above it. By purchasing the appliances in the same store, we knew the measurements and everything went much smoother.

As you can see in the "after" picture. This worked out well. By choosing natural Maple, and going with standard size boxes, we were able to have this kitchen installed for a lot less. We then added some new appliances. (By getting white appliances, we were able to save a lot of money, as stainless steel is the hot one on the market right now, but for a nice rental house, these worked well and were still brand new) Photobucket

As you can see by pictures above, a small kitchen design can work well. You just have to use every square inch to its best. A refrigerator and stove should never be right together like that, unless there is some counter in between.
